Fourth Of July

Home / Bluffton Blog / Fourth Of July

It’s that time of year again–fireworks, family, and Independence–fourth of July is almost here! During this time of the year we get to celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and we get to honor the men who worked so hard to make it happen. It’s very special for those of us here at the Heyward House Historic Center. Our George Cuthbert Heyward, whose family would live in this house, was the grandson of Col. Thomas Heyward Jr.–a signer of the Declaration!  How cool is that (we know, really cool)!?

Since the holiday is fast approaching, we just want to let everyone know that we will be closed that day. Our staff members will be celebrating Independence Day with their family. Don’t worry though! We will be open on Saturday, July 5th, from 10-4.

We hope everyone enjoys the holiday, and make sure it’s a safe holiday!
